Auezov Theatre metro station — Almaty
Auezov Theatre is a deep column-type station (depth 30 m) in the Bostandyk district, near the intersection of Abay Avenue and Mukanov Street. The exits to the underground concourse are on the northern and southern sides of Abay Avenue near Zhandosov Street, and an underground pedestrian crossing beneath the avenue leads to the concourse.
Three halls form a single island platform 15.2 metres wide and 104 metres long. Access up and down is provided by four-band escalators with a rise of 27 metres.
The interior is finished with travertine tiles inset with three-dimensional medallions of hyperplast, decorated with a national ornament and sixteen scenes from nomadic life — eight on each side of the hall. The floors are of granite with a large pattern, and at the end of the platform is a painted mosaic mural depicting a scene from a play.
