Almaly metro station — Almaty
Almaly is a deep pylon-type station (depth 30 m) in the Almaly district, near the intersection of Karasai Batyr Street and Panfilov Street. The entrances and exits are on the eastern side of Panfilov Street, north of Karasai Batyr Street.
Three halls — a central one and two side halls — form a single island platform 19.8 metres wide and 104 metres long. Access up and down is provided by escalators with four bands and a rise of 29 metres. The walls are faced with marble mosaic bearing a national ornament, the arches and skirting are of brown marble, and light is given by decorative chandeliers and fixtures above stainless-steel cornices.
At the end of the platform stands an illuminated artistic stained-glass mural devoted to the idea of an ancient city and a flowering garden: on the right, a garden in bloom with the outlines of the ancient city of Almaly; on the left, ripening fruit and the silhouette of a caravan; and in the centre, an apple tree as a symbol of fertility and the tree of life.
