The Almaty metro consists of one line with 11 stations and a total length of 13.4 kilometres. The line runs from the north-east of the city to the south-west — from Raiymbek Batyr station near Raiymbek Avenue to Baurzhan Momyshuly station in the western part of Almaty.
A ride from end to end takes about 24 minutes. Trains run from 06:20 to 00:00 about every 5 minutes at weekday rush hour, about every 10 minutes in the daytime and late evening, and every 12–16 minutes at weekends. Fares are paid with the Onay transport card — 120 tenge per ride.
All stations except Alatau (which has two side platforms) have a single island platform, and there are no interchanges, so it is impossible to get lost: you simply choose the right direction. Each station is designed in its own style, with national motifs, mosaics and lighting.

The Almaty metro has a single line, so there are no interchanges between lines. You only need to choose the direction: towards Raiymbek Batyr or towards Baurzhan Momyshuly.
