Baurzhan Momyshuly metro station — Almaty
Baurzhan Momyshuly is a station of the second phase of the Almaty metro, located on Abay Avenue west of Momyshuly Street, in the Auezov district. It is the terminus at the western end of the line. The station is shallow and of the column type, made up of three spans (7.5 m; 5.7 m; 7.5 m) 5.6 metres high; the platform is 108 metres long.
The station sits in the middle of a large residential area — the so-called dormitory districts. With this in mind, the main aim of the project was not only to use modern finishing materials but also to create a human-friendly, cultured environment.
The platform walls and columns are finished with innovative Kalesinterflex “wood-effect” ceramic panels in light, pearl-grey tones, and the floor is laid with light-grey granite. The concourse uses the same panels in grey and “light wood” finishes, lit by neutral-white LED fixtures.
