Saryarka metro station — Almaty
Saryarka is a deep pylon-type station (33 m) with a single concourse, located beneath the roadway of Abay Avenue between Altynsarin Avenue and Sain Street, near Familypark in the Auezov district. The platform is 110 metres long.
The main idea of the interior design is to convey the beauty and distinctiveness of the boundless expanses of Saryarka. The walls of the platform section are faced with marble mosaic tiles with wave-like granite inserts that symbolically echo the terrain of the low hills.
On the end wall is a mural of a sunrise over the steppe: in the foreground a herd of horses gallops purposefully on, while in the background stands the young capital of Nur-Sultan in the heart of the boundless Saryarka steppes. The composition recalls the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Kazakh people.
