Almaty metro tickets and fares 2026
A ride with the Onay card costs 120 tenge, plus the reduced fare and the price of the card. All fares and payment methods in one place.
How to pay for the Almaty metro
Fares on the Almaty metro are paid with the Onay transport card, which works across all of the city public transport. One ride costs 120 tenge; the reduced fare (schoolchildren, students, pensioners) is 60 tenge. The fare does not depend on distance — 120 tenge for any ride on the line.
There are two ways to pay: tap your Onay card on the validator at the turnstile or scan the QR code in the Onay app. Cash is not accepted at the turnstiles — top up your card in advance at a cashier, at a machine in the station or in the app.
You can buy an Onay card at cashiers and machines in metro stations and at «Karavan» kiosks. One card works for the metro, buses and trolleybuses of Almaty.
Fares and payment methods
Fares are set by the Onay operator and the Almaty city administration. Check current prices at onay.kz and metroalmaty.kz.
